BIBLICAL PROMISES WITH PRECONDITIONS

Mrs. Sarah Mujjabi Mujjuzi

In the world, there are preconditions for accessing certain privileges/ services e.g. banks, telephone services, hospitals etc. The bible tells us that worldly things should teach us heavenly things but we ignore those preconditions that God has attached to his promises. It’s like demanding a right without caring about the responsibility attached to it. God is ready to fulfill His promises but we let him down by;
  • Ignoring the preconditions.
  • Keeping ourselves ignorant about the preconditions attached to his promises.

We therefore have to check ourselves. Below are some of the preconditioned promises.
  1. To be forgiven and get God’s hand stretched to you, you need to forgive others too. (Mathew 6:14 - 15).
  2. Where two or three are gathered, there I will be amidst them (Mathew 18:19), but we don't want to fellowship.
  3. If u have little faith like a mustard seed, you will move mountains (Mathew 21:21, Luke 17:6). Joshua used faith to make the sun stop (Joshua 10:12 - 14)
  4. If you ask anything in the name of Jesus, it will be given to you (John 16:23)
  5. If you get close to him, he will draw close to you (James 4:8). If you obey him, he will be your God (Leviticus 26:3-13). If you love and obey him, he will drive out your enemies (Deuteronomy 11:13 - 28)
  6. If we worship other Gods, He will he will throw us out of the heritage he has given us (1 Kings 9:6 - 9).
  7. Pay your tithe and he will open the widows of heaven and bless you (Malachi 3:10-12)
  8. To be established believe God and if you want to prosper believe his prophets   (2 Chronicles 20:20)
  9. If you want to reap, sow (Galatians 6:7, 2 Corinthians 6:9). Give and it shall be given back in the same measure shaken together (Luke 6:38).

Therefore let us examine ourselves and check how often we fulfill the preconditions so that we don't complain unnecessarily for not receiving God’s promises.

God bless you
