THE POWER BEHIND US
Pr. Geoffrey Kibombo

We are what we are not by our own strength but by: the Mercy and Grace of God. – That is the power behind everything we do, every success we have or will ever achieve. Those two (Grace and Mercy) qualify us to be what we are in Christ. Romans 3:23-24 (NKJV) says; For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

Mercy can be defined as deliverance from judgment - God not punishing us as our sins would deserve. As a result of that sin, we all deserve death and eternal judgment in the lake of fire. With that in mind, every day we live, is an act of God's Mercy. If God gave us all that we deserve, we would right now be condemned for eternity.

Grace is simply defined as unmerited favour. God favours or gives us good things that we do not deserve and could never earn. It’s God blessing us despite the fact that we do not deserve it - extending kindness to the unworthy. We deserve nothing from God nor does He owe us anything. Every good thing that we experience is a result of the grace of God. Rescued from judgment by God's mercy, grace is anything and everything we receive beyond that mercy. Hebrews 4:15(NKJV) For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Even if we sinned, we were made perfect by his blood; we are worthy to come boldly to the throne of God in our time of need Hebrews 4:16(NKJV) says; “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Therefore, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Are you in need of anything, just go to the throne of God and ask.

The devil shouldn't condemn you because everything is paid for and Christ has made you worthy to receive

Praise the Lord!

WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?

Pr. James Victor Lubwama
Luke 8:24-25 (NKJV)
‘And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marvelled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!’
Jesus took time talking to the multitudes and his disciples, explaining to them the principles of God, teaching them about the kingdom and the will of God, but they never understood him. Every time they met obstacles and challenges, they could not draw knowledge from his lessons to activate their faith but they always called unto him for help. He always wondered where their faith was? (Luke 8:25
Likewise as Christians, God has spoken to us in various circumstances, through His word and prophecies but we never have faith in the words that we receive. Every time we meet challenges and obstacles, we keep wanting to get more prophesies, more prayers at every turn without activating the faith in the words that we received earlier.

What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) teaches us that; "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
The prophesies that we have received is the evidence of things not seen but a confirmation of what God's plan is towards us. The book of Romans 10:17 (NKJV) says that;
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Most people lift their faith but faith is non-existent without God; for it begins with Him and by hearing from the word of God - Rhema word; so faith is not a risk undertaking but it comes by hearing from God. And when you hear and act accordingly, you see victory. Many desire to lift their faith - do things by faith without hearing first from the author of our faith (Hebrews 12:2); and when they hit a dead-end, they play the blame game.

Many people venture into various projects and end up struggling to support them with their own strength. Why? Because they didn't hear from the Alpha and Omega before doing so, because when God speaks, He surely performs and, even sustains and finishes what He started. If you don’t want to be disappointed, don't rush to venture in to something before you hear from the author of faith. If you are not sure about something you want to do or haven't heard, go to a servant of God who can hear; don’t do things impulsively - whenever you hear first from God and then act, you will be victorious. When God sends you somewhere or to do something, He goes before you - if He sends you to Masaka, before you set-off for the journey, He will already be at your destination.

When you hear the word of God in any form, have faith that it shall come to pass and it shall not go back to him empty. The bible assures us in Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV) that;
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Let us not be only followers but believers and doers of the word. For faith without actions is dead - faith is God's word activated. James 2:18 (NKJV) says;
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.’
