REALISING YOUR PROPHESY

Pr. James Victor Lubwama
Amos 3:7 (MSG)
The fact is, God, the Master, does nothing without first telling his prophets the whole story.”
Prophesy is one of the ministries God greatly works with (Ephesians 4:11). Many people don’t understand the prophetic calling and a few others don’t believe it. From the Old Testament days up to now, God never does anything without first informing his servants – prophets. God never did anything without first sending a word through the mouth of prophets; when God is about to do something, He declares it and, he uses the declarers or messengers – prophets.
2 Kings 20:1 (NLT) – About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: “This is what the Lord says: Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness.
Before God does anything, He first speaks; this can be through a dream, vision, Rhema word or through his servants - pastors; and when you believe what God has spoken, he descends down to come and fulfill it.
It very common for one to receive a prophecy and he or she never realizes that which was decreed. If a servant of God prophesies unto thee, it doesn’t mean it’s done, you have to play your part (see devotional on mcfmdevotions) in order for that prophesy to come to pass.
If God is going to use you or give you something, He first sends his word. When the word lands into your heart, your head starts to reason it out thus throwing you into a perplexed state! Your heart wants to believe what has been proclaimed but your mind is saying don’t you see that it’s impossible, because at that moment reality is just the opposite of what you have been told; your experience and exposure is too limited, and perception is definitely twisted so your mind forges out some options to try and disapprove the prophecy.
If you choose to discard your reasoning and ignore your past experiences and you confess positively that; “let it be as the servant of God has spoken” and believe like a child without worrying how it will happen, then God commands the angles to come and implement what He spoke.
When the word comes from heaven, it lands straight to your heart and if you humble yourself and believe it wholeheartedly, something happens. What? That which fills the heart, the mouth speaketh or confesses. You begin to confess: I am going to get married, I am going be blessed etc. However, many times logic is antagonistic, it begins to say; you have three children who will leave these numerous young girls to marry you? Your parents never owned anything, you are uneducated and you don't have any connection or capital, how do you expect to become rich? The pastor is lying; this is too good to be true – total fiction. But if you ignore those little contradictory voices in your head, and believe the word from the mouth of God with your heart, and say; let it be as the man of God has proclaimed, and even start confessing it, while your comrades oppose it and label you a lunatic, you will live to see those words which were spoken unto you.
Why does the world term believers or Born-Again as lunatics? It's because the things we believe and confess outweigh their wit and understanding. When the prophecy is launched from heaven, it lands on the heart directly, and when the heart believes it, your mouth begins to confess it; and when you confess what God has decreed, you are creating it - whenever you proclaim what the spirit has communicated, you create it because the word from the mouth of God carries anointing and creating power. Our faith and hope is a heart issue not a mindset issue!
Though the Lord has spoken and continues to speak, as a Pastor with a prophetic calling, I have seen people who have received a prophetic word but have never realised it or been activated to this day. Why? Because they are didn't believe that which was prophesied unto them.
Judges 6:12- 16 (TLB) says;
The Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, “Mighty soldier, the Lord is with you!” 13 “Stranger,” Gideon replied, “if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors have told us about—such as when God brought them out of Egypt? Now the Lord has thrown us away and has let the Midianites completely ruin us.” 14 Then the Lord turned to him and said, “I will make you strong! Go and save Israel from the Midianites! I am sending you!” 15 But Gideon replied, “Sir, how can I save Israel? My family is the poorest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least thought of in the entire family………………”
Most of our prophetic words die in the mind because our reasoning is contrary to the word from God. God’s word and our understanding is at times divergent. God might tell you that you are going to be great and when you try to analyse it with your brain, you find out that; you are marginally educated, your family is very poor and you have no influential friends - all the avenues to make you great are extinct. The thought of greatness in that disadvantaged state is total foolishness. In Judges 6 above Gideon doubted the message from the angel until God himself had to come in but still he was faithless and pessimistic. The bible teaches in 1 Corinthians 1:18(NIV)  that; "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
When God speaks, He is not going to speak what you either understand or know because he doesn’t speak from the perspective of your limited mind, but when he speaks, receive, believe and confess the word; let it be as the servant of God has proclaimed. When Mary received a prophecy that she was going to give birth to the son of God, she was overwhelmed; she didn’t permit her mind to throw her into confusion but just humbled herself and believed the word. She said in Luke 1:38 (NKJV) that; ……...Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
Before God does anything, he first informs his servants. God speaks through his servants - Prophets of what will happen in the times ahead, so;
  •        Write down the words the servant of God delivers. Habakkuk 2:2-3(GNT) The Lord gave me this answer: “Write down clearly on tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance. Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed.” and,
  •         Believe, confess and pray along those words. – 1 Timothy 1:18 (AMP) “This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, so that [inspired and aided] by them you may fight the good fight [in contending with false teachers]
When the prophetic word comes from God to you, receive and believe it with your heart, ignore the fracas logic brings, and confess it with thy mouth!
We are what we are because of the prophetic word.
