PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT
Pr. James Victor Lubwama

John 4:24 (NKJV)
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” We must therefore keep it in mind that God is a spirit.

Prayer is part of worship. It’s a spiritual communication with God where man and God have a dialogue. We humans are both flesh and blood. We exist in two worlds at the same time - flesh & spirit. To communicate with God, we must use our spirits to access the spiritual world. Just like God is a spirit, even the devil is a spirit.

A Carnal Christian can neither communicate with GOD nor cast out the devil. That’s why when God wanted us to understand what he is doing, He had to put on flesh and blood and come into the world. In the same way if we want to communicate with God, we have to move into his world - the spiritual world. Being in the flesh (carnality) is being so mindful of the surrounding (earthly concerns) other than entirely focusing on God. When you pray but your mind isn’t focused on what you are doing, you can’t see God. God has no dealings with the flesh, he only deals with the spirit - the inner man.
This can be related to a phone and its content (Hardware and Software)

Scenarios
MAN; - You can’t pray & communicate with God because; you are cold in the spirit. Your network with the Holy Spirit is off.
You can’t pray or communicate with God if you are totally dysfunctional. You’re poisoned by worldly systems and pleasure and, your spiritual eyes are blinded.
PHONE; - You can’t make calls because; You have no battery, cell phone is switched off or there is no network.
You can’t use your phone for anything if the software is faulty. Probably if your phone fell in water

Prayer involves; composing yourself, understanding the mindset of God, moving into the spirit, and focusing all your attention on the most high God.
