Pr. Geoffrey Kibombo
Luke 10:23-24 (MSG)
He then turned
in a private aside to his disciples. “Fortunate the eyes that see what you’re
seeing! 24 There are plenty of prophets and kings who would have given their right
arm to see what you are seeing but never got so much as a glimpse, to hear what
you are hearing but never got so much as a whisper.”
We are blessed to be in a
generation of the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. Many prophets and sovereigns
wanted to see what we see but they were not given the opportunity; for we have better promises than what our fore
fathers had!
In the Old Testament days, God was on Israel's side in their battles - He was with them a couple of times but not always as is the case in this generation. They went into the presence of God only thrice a year at the sanctuary of the festivals. Deuteronomy 16:16 (TLB) says; “Every man in Israel shall appear before the Lord your God three times a year…..” We are blessed because we are continually in the presence of God: He dwells in us and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
We have better chances of defeating our challenges than the earlier believers in the Old Testament. If they were victorious then, we are much more victories now - we can achieve much more because have no hindrances; we can go to the Holy of Holies unlike them who had representatives. Hebrews 10:19-20 (TLB) says; “And so, dear brothers, now we may walk right into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of Jesus. 20 This is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain—his human body—to let us into the holy presence of God.”
Our sacrifice was paid in full with the precious blood of Jesus, it never lacked anything. That is why witchcraft and curses cannot defeat us because of the perfect sacrifice Christ paid. No blood or any form of sacrifice can prevail against the sacrifice Jesus made for us at the cross. 1 Peter 1:18-19 (TLB) says; “God paid a ransom to save you from the impossible road to heaven which your fathers tried to take, and the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver as you very well know. 19 But he paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God."
- Cleanses us. Isaiah 1:18 (NLT) - “…….Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.
- Takes away our sin. John 1:29 (NLT) – “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
We are in a covenant that speaks better things than any other blood. Jesus rendered all forms of sacrifices devoid of power; no harm can be done by way of sacrifice or any kind of sorcery. Hebrews 12:24 (AMP) says; “And to Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant [uniting God and man], and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message............"
You are blessed to hear what you hear and see what you see, don’t take it for granted!!
